Abstract
Rhizobium was isolated from the root nodules of Arachis hypogea. Biochemical and molecular characterization of the isolate was studied. The isolate was immobilized using 3% sodium alginate. Characteristics of the industrial effluent was analyzed. The immobilized beads of the Rhizobium have the capacity to degrade the toxic chemicals present in the effluent.
