Abstract

In urban areas, the electrical cable runs underground instead of overhead lines, which occupies less space and is considered as the effective and efficient way of transmission. But the problem arises when any fault occurs in the underground cable. The proposed system conclude that the underground cable fault location model by using Sensor (LM317) and registers to find the resistance of the wire. The purpose of the project is to identify the cable fault distance from the initial position in terms of the kilometer. By using a simple method of Ohm's law, When a fault occurs the voltage loss is increasing with the decrease in the resistance value of the wire, due to this current is varies. The data collected is stored on the main server and can retrieve the information whenever we want. We then send a message to the respective person about the location of the fault.
