Design of Refill Band Spiral Winding Attachment on Lathe Machine

Now-a-days in this competitive era, it is most essential to complete jobs in smallest cycle time in order to achieve maximum profit at minimum wastage. Some leading, printing machine manufacturers outsource some parts from vendors.  Currently, one of the roller sub-assembly is being outsourced from outer vendors. During the visit, we observed that the existing process of manufacturing of such sub-assembly is very lengthy & of manual nature. As to find an alternative solution to the existing problem, we decided to semi-automate the process which will also result in better productivity and which will reduce wastage also. For achieving this, we designed and manufacture an attachment which can be used on a simple lathe machine. Using attachment made the whole process semi-automated, results of which are compared with the previous manual process. It is observed that using attachment reduces cycle time, reduces manpower, also decreases wastage than the manual process.

Association of Common PALB2 Polymorphisms with Ovarian Cancer: A Case-Control Study

Background: The partner and localizer of breast cancer 2 (PALB2) has an essential role in BRCA2 mediated DNA double-strand break repair by serving as a bridging molecule and acting as the physical and functional link between BRCA1& 2 proteins. Truncating mutations in the PALB2 gene are rare but are thought to be associated with increased risk of developing breast and /or ovarian cancer in different populations. The present study was designed to investigate the variants of PALB2 and their association with OC. Material & Methods: A total of 150 histopathologically confirmed ovarian cancer patients and 250 healthy age-matched controls were collected. Three SNPs c.2794 G/A( rs45624036), c.1010 T/C(rs45494092), and c.1676A/G(rs152451) of PALB2 gene were selected and genotyped by ARMS-PCR followed by agarose gel electrophoresis. Appropriate statistical tests were applied to test for the significance of the results. Results: A significant association of G/A (rs45624036) in inheritance models was observed & at the allelic level, the A allele conferred four-fold increased risk compared to G allele. Regarding T/C (rs45494092) polymorphism all the models revealed an association with OC and C allele showing eight-fold increased risk. With respect to A/G(rs152451) polymorphism, the protective role was observed in tested inheritance models in OC patients. The Haplo analysis for the combination of all the three variants revealed increased risk with A-T-A and G-C- G haplotypes.(OR=4.50 ;95%CI 1.85-10.94;p=0.001,OR=26.36 ;95%CI 2.33 -297.91;p= 0.0085), whereas other haplotypes conferred a protective role in OC. Conclusions: The present study suggests an essential role of PALB2 in the etiology of ovarian cancer.

Marketing Strategies for Library Resources and Services to the Engineering College Students

This paper is to examine the marketing of Library resources and services to the engineering college students.  Engineering education is needed to market their resources and services proactively to the students who are not familiar with the electronic environment. Librarians are needed to consider these learners' characteristics, language proficiency, learning styles and their subjects of interests.  This paper also suggests users’ web workflow strengthen the library visibility. Librarians can be very effective in applying their skills to the marketing process in libraries.

A Study On Real Time Plant Disease Diagonsis System

We aim to develop a real time application to the farmers for managing crop diseases. However disease detection requires continuous monitoring of experts which might be prohibitively expensive in large farms area. Automatic detection of plant diseases is an essential research topic as it may prove benefits in monitoring large fields of crops and thus automatically detect the symptoms of diseases as soon as they appear on plant leaves. Regarding plant disease diagnosis methodologies to detect diseases on crops, image processing in disease diagnosis and eAGROBOT was studied. This paper is aiming to all are collectively used and formed semi real time system for a disease diagnosis which uses image processing and data mining concepts to give pesticide recommendation and pesticide cost estimation system. Thus the android application makes a good foundation for following effective characteristic parameters for the disease diagnoses and setting up recommender system. The system is to be designed and developed using Android studio as front-end software and SQLite as back-end software. The pictures and remedial measures of the diseases were stored in the database and can be retrieved whenever necessary. The challenge is to make the farmers to listen the crop disease diagnosis system and to get the advice related to the crop diseases. The constraint here is to develop the expert in local languages so that farmers can operate the ES by themselves and get expert advice from the system

Bionic Arm Using Muscle Sensor V3

Current motorized limb prostheses provide rudimentary functionality for the application in everyday life. Together with a poor cosmetic appearance, this is the reason why a large percentage of amputees do not use their prosthetic device regularly. This paper seeks to present an overview of current state of the art research on neural interfaces. The focus lies on non-invasive recording with EMG and especially High-Density EMG sensors. Additionally, direct machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms for the decoding of the recorded signals are discussed. Finally, promising research directions for advanced prosthesis control will be discussed. The bionic arm uses EMG signals to control each action of the hand. In order to control them, we need to record the EMG signal for different actions. And compare it with real-time values to move the hand in a different manner. There are separate servo motors to control the actions of each finger separately. So these are programmed by using microcontrollers.

Rare Case Study of Adenocarcinoma of Jejunum

Adenocarcinoma of jejunum is a rare malignancy of small intestine. The small intestinal mucosa makes up about 90% of the total surface of the gastrointestinal tract. However, adenocarcinomas rarely arise in this location. Small bowel adenocarcinoma accounts for 2% of gastrointestinal tumors and 1% of gastrointestinal cancer death.1 In the small bowel the jejunum is the commonest site followed by the duodenum and the ileum.
