Multi port Network Ethernet Performance Improvement Techniques

An Ethernet has its own importance and space in network subsystem. In today’s resource-intensive engineering the applications need to deal with the real time data processing, server virtualization, and high-volume data transactions. The real-time technologies such as video on demand and Voice over IP operations demand the network devices with efficient network data processing as well as better networking bandwidth. The performance is the major issues with the multi-port network devices. It requires the sufficient network bandwidth and CPU processing speed to process the real time data at the context. And this demand is goes on increasing. The new multi-port hardware technologies can help to improvements in the performance with the virtualized server environments. But, these hardware technologies having their own limitations in terms of CPU utilization levels and power consumption. It also impact on latency and the overall system cost. This thesis will provide the insights to some of the key configuration decisions at hardware as well as software designs in order to facilitate multi-port network devices performance improvement over the existing infrastructure. This thesis will also discuss the solutions such as Virtual LAN and balanced or symmetric network to reduce the cost and hardware dependency to improve the multi-port network system performance significantly over the current existing infrastructure. This performance improvement includes CPU utilization and bandwidth in the heavy network loads.

Power Quality Enhancement and Harmonics Reduction in Non Linear Loads Using Vienna Rectifier

This project is designed to improve power quality and to reduce current type harmonics distortion and power factor correction in domestic non-linear loads with the help of Vienna rectifier (three phase three level three switch pulse width modulation rectifier). Harmonics distortion in the electric distribution system is increasingly growing due to the widespread use of non-linear loads. Most modern power supplies are non linear load which contains electronic devices that do not conduct current over the full cycle of the applied voltage and so introduce harmonics in to the power network. Hence improve the power quality and gives unity power factor from the supply side. The paper compiles and discusses the harmonics reduction method, power factor correction, and power quality improvement technique. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system reduces current type harmonics distortion and power quality improvement in an efficient way.

Fabrication and Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of AL6061-4%B4C-4%CU Based Composite Experimentally

Metal matrix composite is widely used in automotive industries because they exhibit different mechanical properties such as high strength and good wear resistance, high specific stiffness, low weight and high hardness etc. Due to these properties metal matrix composite with particulate reinforcement and fabricating, the method has become one of the most important areas of research. The work is mainly focus on fabrication of Al 6061 reinforced with 4% B 4 C (particle size 100 mesh) & 4% Cu and method used for fabrication is stir casting method. Tensile strength, hardness, impact strength, microstructure of fabricated composite are used to characterize it. By addition of B 4 C & Cu tensile strength and hardness of the fabricated composite has increased and slightly decreased in impact strength. Scanning Electron microscopy is used to confirm the microstructure and uniform distribution of B 4 C & Cu particles in metal matrix composite. The value of tensile strength increase up to 20% and hardness increase upto15% due to addition of B 4 C & Cu paritcles. The physical and mechanical properties of the composite are improved so it can be used for automotive industrial applications.

A Study on Performance of SBI Blue Chip Fund at SBI Mutual Funds in India

A mutual fund comprising investments in blue-chip stocks, these funds are measured low risk since the underlying securities are from well established, stable companies with a history of paying dividends and maintaining value despite fluctuations in the adjoining market. Blue chip funds may be chosen as part of a conservative investment strategy. The manuscript highlights to identify risk and returns involved in a blue-chip fund. The most important objective of all mutual funds is to provide better returns to investors by minimizing risk associated with a capital market investment. State Bank of India Mutual Fund (SBI MF) is one of the largest mutual funds in the country with an investor base of over 5.4 million. With over 20 years of rich experience in fund management, State Bank of India Mutual Fund brings forward its expertise in consistently delivering value to its investors. The target of this paper is to evaluate the performance of State Bank of India blue chip fund comparing with the benchmark for the period of 2014-2016.

A Case Study in Designing and Analysis of Cost for a Solar Photo Voltaic System

The world faces an increasing an environmental pollution basically as a result of combustion of conventional energy sources. India currently depends on conventional energy to supply power to her teaming population. Due to this, the energy generated does not meet demand. Consequently, the power supply is erratic and areas isolated from the main cities lack power supply. Therefore, the need to develop a non-conventional source of energy generation such as solar cannot be overemphasized. A photovoltaic system that can increase energy output and/or supply power to isolated areas of the country is a good choice, considering the abundance of solar radiated energy in India. In this work as PV system model is designed to work either as a standalone PV system or as grid integrated and the payback period is calculated for the same. The developed model may be useful in the prediction of PV cells behavior under different physical and environmental parameters. The result obtained showed the maximum power output and the corresponding maximum voltage of solar module. Study results demonstrate that, under complex irradiance conditions, the power generated by the new configuration is enhanced than that of the traditional configuration. The solar PV system can be widely used in many consumer applications, such as PV vests for cell phones and music players.
