Pothole detection for accident prevention: A review

Potholes are a nuisance to society, especially to individuals who use public roads. The importance of road infrastructure for society is comparable to the importance of blood vessels in humans. Crevasse and gouge are the main factors that cause road accidents and damage to vehicles. They should be spotted and corrected before they become a hazard. Road conditions can thus be improved through the detection of potholes. It is the goal of engineers to continuously monitor and repair the roads to ensure that they are in good shape. Having objective and comprehensive data about the condition of the roadways is a promising method for achieving this objective. About two million kilometers of roads in India are surfaced with around one million kilometers being poorly constructed. The various problems that plague Indian roads are largely caused by the improper maintenance of the roadways. No matter where you go in India, you’ll find one or more roads with potholes. While Indians have learned to perfect their driving skills to compensate for disheveled roads, there are many accidents around the country. This paper compares various subjects such as YOLO, SSD, HOG, Neural network, Inception V3,2D LiDAR, CNN-DL, R-CNN, etc. for predicting well holes. This paper introduces the state of the art in well-known mining detection techniques that discuss a variety of methods and identify the best solutions for real-time implementation under extreme conditions and working conditions thereby ensuring human safety.

Public sector banks in India need to be given autonomous status

Public Sector Banks have played a very important role in providing credit to Priority Sector, sectors in Rural India. Recent scams in Public Sector Banks and increasing NPAs have created a voice for the privatization of PSU Banks. This paper advocates autonomous status for PSU Banks and keeping control of the Government sector at least 50 % shareholding in such banks needed for meeting targeted lending to the priority sectors of the economy.

IoT based monitoring system to detect covid-19 and other health issues using Arduino microcontroller

Covid-19 and its variant viruses have killed millions of human population, whereas still more numbers are being infected and admitted every day. As per records, severe infection causes Pneumonia associated with high pulse and breathing rates, and low blood oxygen. Pulse rate and blood oxygen level are two parameters that medical experts use to diagnose and measure Pneumonia and Bronchitis through sensors. Therefore, it has become a very important research direction to detect the pulse wave accurately, quickly, and conveniently. Those sensors are used to scan patients’ measurements which are widely available in developed countries. As their costs are prohibitively high for wide penetration in developing countries we developed and tested the performance of an Atmel ATmega 328P MCU and MAX30100 sensor kit-based pulse rate, blood oxygen monitor, and blood pressure. By using our project we can know whether the person is having danger of cardiac arrest, fever. The parameters here we measured are temperature, heartbeat, and pulse by using respective sensors. The data from the sensors are given to the Arduino Uno. This project aims at developing a system that gives pulse rate and SPO2 respectively. These sensors are interfaced with an Arduino microcontroller board. The value of saturation oxygen level, pulse rate, and blood pressure records will be uploaded to cloud software

Equal opportunity for growth & development

Inequality is a common thing in every aspect of human life and bringing equality is a special and difficult one. It is just impossible to bring 100 percent equality in any society; however, reducing inequality is possible with special efforts. When we have wrestling between a physically strong wrestler and a weak wrestler then obviously strong wrestler will win the fight. However, if we provide equal opportunities to both the wrestler by providing the same food, same nutrient ions, the same amount of training, same weight, etc then having a fight will be giving unbiased and just result. This paper, it is tried to brief the laws related to equal opportunity in India and United Nations Organization and also tried to identify inequalities due to income, gender, caste, and religion in India. Measures taken by Central and State governments to reduce inequality are not sufficient and more measures needed to be taken.

Land degradation due to coal mining in and around Manuguru, Bhadradri Kothagudem District, Telangana, India

Coal is the most polluting source which creates many environmental problems at various stages of its procurement from mining, transportation, stockpiling, coal preparation, and utilization stages of operation. Huge quantities of waste material are produced by several mining activities in the coal-mining region. The study area has an enormous resource of coal catering to the needs of thermal plants and the cement industry in the State. Mining practices are opencast and underground and all mining operations are mechanized. Mining leads to Land degradation and has an adverse impact on the environment, whether it is opencast or underground. The study reveals that land degradation is inevitable due to mining operation.
