Depression analysis using facial feature and local binary pattern

Depression is one of the most serious problems faced by today’s world. At the same time, it is the most difficult mental disorder to detect. Symptoms of depression vary from person to person. So it’s difficult for a doctor to diagnose and treat it. And most of the methods to diagnose depression depend on an interactive session with the patient or on the basis of behavioral observation. It is observed that most of the time patients don’t give correct answers to the question asked or tries to behave normally in front of the doctor, making it difficult for a doctor to diagnose depression. To overcome all these difficulties we have developed an automatic depression analysis method that uses dynamic facial landmark descriptor. This method gives the Depression score, on the bases of which we decide a person is depressed or not. As it does not involve any human interference such as clinical interview, doctor’s interpretation, it gives accurate results.

Inhalation of tobacco dust health effects such as asthma, burning eyes conjunctivitis, chronic obstructive bronchitis and allergic respiratory or nasal diseases. Control Group - Healthy Controls – 100 subjects. Normal healthy age matched female subjects (not exposed to any occupational dust) were selected as controls. Female bidi rollers - 100 were considered as the subject of this study (exposed to occupational tobacco dust with work experience 10-40yrs). Information was collected by visiting the house of each bidi roller. The study subjects were interviewed and a questionnaire was filled for each subject, which included details about their age, educational qualification and health problems such as headache, nausea, irritation and dryness of throat, weakness, sneezing faced by them. The present study indicates that women bidi rollers face numerous health problems due to direct inhalation of tobacco dust such as asthma, burning eyes conjunctivitis, chronic obstructive bronchitis and allergic respiratory or nasal diseases.

The idea of journal indexing and the concept of reviews: Theoretical perspectives

This article discusses the possible utility of a citation index providing a new approach to the management of scientific literature with a view of the historical aspect. It appears to mix content that can never be gathered by the normal indexing of subjects by way of its different construction. It is best defined as an index of connections and offers the consumer the versatility it needs. Suggestiveness by association-of-ideas is given by traditional topic-index, but only under the limits of a single subject heading. The Index would be worth a collection effort only though it was not used elsewhere for a citation index than to mitigate the citation of bad results. The article ends with observations on the different types of quote indexing. The key aim of this article is to summarize the citation indices and the peer review technique article often includes views among the scholars, as writers, editors and referees seem likely to focus on maintaining the refereeing system in most disciplines. It reviews some novel approaches to study evaluation in this article. The Article addresses the pros and cons of the review and concludes with a view for the future.
