A study to explore the dietary patterns and related knowledge among antenatal women attending Kamla Nehru Hospital Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), with a view to develop an informational booklet
Pregnancy is a highly demanding period for nutrition demand, this period includes the taking of additional intake of nutritious foods which results in weight gain of about 10-12kg during pregnancy. Foods rich in Fiber like whole grains pulses, proteins and water should be taken during pregnancy. Objective: The study aimed to determine the dietary patterns and related knowledge among primigravida women of 1st trimester (1-12 weeks) during pregnancy. Methods: The study adopted an exploratory survey design that was conducted at O.P.D Kamla Nehru Hospital, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh in the month of February-March 2019. A total of 400 primigravida women of 1st trimester (1-12 weeks) were selected by purposive sampling technique and after collecting the data from the subjects Informational booklets were given to the subjects, the dietary patterns and related knowledge during pregnancy was assessed by using Self-structured questionnaire and interview technique was used to collect data. Result: Data analysis was done with descriptive and inferential statistics. Frequency and percentage were used to analyze the socio-demographic profile of the subjects. Mean and Standard Deviation was used to analyze the dietary patterns of Primigravida women of 1st trimester (1-12 weeks).A chi-square test was used to find the association between the knowledge regarding dietary patterns with the selected socio-demographic variables.28 close-ended questions were asked from the 400 subjects. 57% of the study subjects have good dietary patterns, 42.3% have average dietary patterns and 0.7% has poor dietary patterns. The majority of (61.3%) antenatal women had Moderate knowledge, (11.7%) had adequate knowledge and (27%) had inadequate knowledge regarding diet during the antenatal period. The significant association found between knowledge score of that antenatal women's Sources of information regarding diet (0.031*) were found significant with other socio-demographic variables. No other significant association was found with other socio-demographic variables. Conclusion: The results of the present study reveal that there is a lack of knowledge and practices among primigravida women of 1st trimester (1-12 weeks) during pregnancy hence women's knowledge needs to shift the care at the earliest to prevent further complications during pregnancy.

Elimination of specular reflection
Detection of highlights is a prominent issue in computer vision, graphics and image processing. Applications that require object properties’ measurement or rendering are affected by specular reflection since the models assume matte diffusing surfaces most of the time. Hence, detection, and sometimes removal, of specular reflection (highlights) in an image may be critical. Proposed work takes the help of global color information of an image to effectively recover specular and diffuse reflection. We take help of a dichromatic reflection model to get insights into specular and diffuse reflection. To detect illumination chromaticity (specular reflection regions) we have effectively used a k-means algorithm. Pixels in an image are spread over the entire image and their distances to the illumination chromaticity give the number of specular reflection components. With such non-local overall information from these color lines, our method can effectively separate specular and diffuse reflection components using the repaint() method. We have taken the help of the Imglib2 library.

The metabolic syndrome: Its prevalence and risk factors among policemen of Patiala, Punjab
Metabolic syndrome is characterized by a cluster of conditions, including hyperglycaemia, abdominal obesity, dyslipidaemia, and high blood pressure. The prevalence of this syndrome has varied markedly between different studies because of the lack of internationally agreed-upon criteria for its definition. Definitions of the syndrome have been proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1999, the U.S. IIIrd Report of National Cholesterol Education Program, Adult Treatment Panel (ATP III) in 2001, and the International Diabetes Federation in 2005 (IDF). Objectives of this paper include: To determine the prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome and risk factors in the policemen. To find out the association of sociodemographic variables with risk factors and Metabolic Syndrome. To find out the association between the risk factors and Metabolic Syndrome. Material and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted amongst 155 policemen of Patiala; two types of data collection were done based on annual health reports (2017-18) and Structured Questionnaire. A Non-Probability Quota sampling was used to select respondents based on three criteria: Population group was Policemen, more than 40years of males having their Annual health reports (2017-18). Results: The prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome was 71%, abdominal obesity (97%), high triglycerides (66.5%), low HDL cholesterol (33.5%), high BP (73%), Fasting glucose more than >110mg/dl (31.60%), alcohol consumption (84%), non-vegetarian (93.5%) and severe stress (73%) among the policemen. The binary logistic analysis showed the significant relationship between the risk factors and metabolic syndrome, risk factors including clinical parameters, individual medical history of low HDL cholesterol; diabetes; food preference, physical activity during working hours. The current study found that the majority of the policemen are vulnerable to metabolic syndrome and associated risk factors were responsible for developing it.

Design and manufacturing of Valve lapping machine
Automobile maintenance could be a major space within the trade of automobile and additionally a significant financial gain to the business. In present, combustion engine maintenance is explicit as an important section in automobile maintenance and also the Valve Lapping method that's subjected during this thesis is finished throughout IC engine maintenance. this way employed in most automobile maintenance businesses for Valve lapping method aren't effective and consume heaps of operating hours.’ Valve lapping Machine’ for combustion Engine could be a machine designed to beat these issues by minimizing the human involvement within the method. The thesis consists of the background in coming up with the machine, methodologies used, results obtained by knowledge analysis so as to optimize the planning and style of the valve lapping machine. lapping is a ma-chinning method within which 2 surfaces area unit rubbed alongside associate abrasive between them, by hand movement or employing a machine. this could take 2 forms. the primary style of lapping(traditionally referred to as grinding), involves rubbing a brittle material like glass against a surface like iron or glass itself (also referred to as the "lap" or grinding tool) with associate abrasive like aluminium oxide, jeweller's ,rouge, optician's rouge, emery, carbide, diamond, etc., between them. The lapping machine Stellite as associate abrasive has been developed and it's been determined that the time needed for getting a particular surface compared to standard methodology is a smaller amount. A lapping machine with suction is developed the suction is connected to the valve manifold that's in grips with the cylinder seat because of the mechanism of rotation in the dextral and anticlockwise direction the operation of lapping is performed. The rotation motion is provided by the utilization of Cam and Follower. A programming board referred to as Arduino is employed to realize the required motion at a specific measure. a correct comparison is formed with manual operations and it's been found that the machine becomes profitable once a breakeven purpose of forty-eight days. The time needed for the lapping of 3-cylinder head Stellite as abrasive is concerning forty-five minutes wherever because it takes concerning an hour for lapping while not using Stellite. roughly ten Cylinder heads are lapped. so, productivity is improved by Stellite as abrasive.
