Interlinking of Rivers can solve the water problem in Rajasthan

Ajmer is located in the center of Rajasthan (India) between 25 0 38 “and 26 0 58 “ north 75 0 22” east longitude covering a geographical area of about 8481sq km hemmed in all sides by Aravalli hills. About 7 miles from the city is Pushkar Lake created by the touch of Lord Brahma. The Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti is the holiest shrine next to Mecca in the world. Ajmer is the abode of certain flora and fauna that are particularly endemic to semi-arid and are specially adapted to survive in the dry waterless region of the state. The water problem is the is a great problem of Rajasthan. Due to Scarcity of Rains Interlinking of Rivers like Indira Gandhi canal and Luni River and Banas River can solve the water scarcity problem of Rajasthan.

Mechanical behavior and durability of steel fiber reinforced concrete made with recycled material

Concrete is a composite material consisting of Mortar and aggregate. The main problem in the concrete is the formation of cracks. In this study, to control the cracks into the concrete steel fibers are added. Now a day the use of PET (polyethylene terephthylate) is highly recommended. This thesis has studied the incorporation of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste in concrete as a substitute for natural coarse aggregate and has found an optimal combination of components that produces a useful concrete product. The waste PET was first reduced in coarse aggregate by shredding and then combined with the rest of the components. A traditional method will use for the partial replacement of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as coarse aggregate to its weight with the addition of steel fiber, which is 1%, 1.5% and 2% by volume in plain concrete. Specimens of specified are used for testing, which is designed according to the Indian standard code. Compressive, tensile and flexural strength of this specimen compared to the control sample and then 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are partially replaced as coarse aggregate samples. Furthermore compressive, tensile and flexural strength of this new specimen compared to the control sample. The material used in this experiments are; Cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, PET as a partial replacement of course aggregate and water. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to use PET as a partial replacement of course aggregate in concrete. The safety, durability, and stability of the structure depend to a large extent on the properties of the concrete and, therefore, it is imperative to prepare the concrete with adequate strength.

Awareness on women hostel safety measures

Like in many other places we stay by spending a lot of money, the hostel is one of the places where anyone can stay within their affordable budget. Most of the people get into hostels for the purpose of education. Among those, women are likely to face challenging situations. In the last few years, several crimes have been taken place in schools, hostels, and other areas. A step was taken by Cyberabad police commissionerate to enhance “safety” and to reduce such crimes. The ten commandments introduced by them for safer stay included, access control, availability of compound walls, 24x7 security guard, visitor’s register, CCTV’s, notice boards, suggestion box, fire extinguisher, first-aid box and Id proofs of staff. In spite of the availability of some of the item mentioned above, it was observed that the level of awareness on possible risks was low. This study mainly focuses on the importance of this type of awareness among women. It also attempts to educate women on the facilities they should be demanding for before joining a hostel. A survey was conducted as a prerequisite to know the existing level of awareness on safety measures which should be provided by hostel management. The main objective of this study is to determine the level of awareness and to study the relationship between awareness of safety measures and perception of safety. The data is collected through primary and secondary sources of which, primary data have been collected from the questionnaire and interview method and secondary data have been collected from the journals and published articles. The suggestions provided in this study may help in reducing such crimes to some extent.

Prevalence of nausea and vomiting among children with cancer treatment

Cancer, when diagnosed in children, is a stressful experience for the child and family members. Cancer treatment is advancing and the treatment related side effects are very common among children. The prevalence of nausea, vomiting and retching is very frequent in children with chemotherapy. It is very essential to assess the children for any side effects of drugs. The study was conducted using descriptive study design on 125 children who met the inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using Demographic and clinical variables Proforma and nausea, vomiting and retching were assessed using RHODES Index. The findings revealed about 80.8% of children were in the age group of 6- 10 years, the majority were males (68.8%) and a majority 68% of children had severe nausea and vomiting and feeling of retching during cancer treatment.

Pain perception of children undergoing chemotherapy

Pain is a very common and most stressful experience which a child faces during chemotherapy. Children with cancer need frequent pharmacological interventions to manage pain. As cancer is a chronic condition and cancer treatment-related symptoms like pain are reported by child and parents frequently. It is a known fact that cancer treatments are long term care which is associated with many side effects. This study aimed to examine the pain perceived by children with cancer. The study was conducted using a descriptive correlational design on 125 children who met the inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using Demographic and clinical variables Proforma and pain was assessed using the Wong Bakers Face Pain Rating Scale. The findings revealed that the pain experienced by children with cancer during chemotherapy was 64.8%. There was no significant association between Selected Demographic Variables of Children and Pain (p>0.05).

A research on analysis of characteristic behavior of the M35 concrete due to addition crushed glass fibre

Many types of research have been currently going to modify and improved the concrete properties by the addition of different types of materials. This Experimental investigation represents the Optimum use of the fibres with the concrete mixture and will help in achieving the desired results. This Experimental work shows the investigation on M35 grade due to the incorporation of glass fibres. In this Experiment, we used the glass fibres of Filament diameter 14 microns with aspect ratio 857 at various percentages like 0%,0.4%.0.8%,1.2%.1.6 by the weight of concrete on M35 grade of mix proportion (1:1.60: 2.96) with water cement ratio 0.45.
