Survey on design of software stack for IoT architecture and sustainable rural development

The digital revolution by the Internet of Things is reshaping several traditional business sectors. The Internet of Things (IoT) will probably fuse straightforwardly and consistently an extensive number of heterogeneous end frameworks while giving open access to chosen subsets of information for the advancement of plenty of computerized administrations. It enables the path to connect any time, anywhere, with anything and anyone ideally using any network topology with a specified service. Hence the divergence on the scenario of a SmartGlobe‟ has emerged to mean many things to many people. The aim of this exploration is to research the potential commitments of the web of Things innovation towards neediness will decrease in these rustic zones, in accordance with the necessities distinguished in these networks and with emphasis on agriculture. These can drive the social advancement in country regions, advance expanding profitability and monetary effectiveness development, change individuals' mindset, and improve populace quality and the way people's style of work and their life. It focuses on the key areas of interest in the sustainable rural development and assesses the uses of IoT in those territories. It furnishes a thorough view as for development in the personal satisfaction in that.

Reliability analysis of Electronic Control Unit and Remote Unit used in Decoy Launcher Defence System

Abstract: With the development of technology, effective countermeasures of decoy launcher are developed. Decoy Launcher Defence System (DLDS) designed to detect, to track and to localize the incoming Decoy from the enemies and it is a countermeasure system. The system offers a complete solution to detect and locate an incoming Decoy and provides highly effective defence for the system. The DLDS shall enable timely defence against incoming Decoys at sufficient range from the submarine to guarantee safety and survivability of own platform. Controlling of decoy launcher plays a crucial role in launching and firing of Decoys. For controlling the Decoy Launcher, two control units are there. They are Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and Remote Unit (RU). ECU is manually controlled and it act as master controller for the launcher. RU is controlled by directors through remotely (infrared signals). It is necessary to improve the reliability for the control units. In order to obtain the reliability of ECU and RU of DLDS, in this paper developed the Reliability Prediction, Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) and Failure Mode Effect and Criticality analysis (FMECA). Reliability Analysis gives the Prediction of the failure Rate and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). Reliability Prediction obtained in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217F2. Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) used to know the parts reliability how it contributes to success or failure of a system using logical operations of the system. FMECA used to obtain the failure modes of the components, their effect on system, identifies the criticality and corresponding changes are made in the design to reduce the failure modes. The procedure for performing a failure mode effects and criticality analysis developed by MIL-STD-1629. To control these failures proper methods are considered to improve the reliability of system. The reliability analysis is carried out using ITEMSOFT Tool.

Skill gap assessment is a key to survive

To ensure that the workforce is well trained, knowledgeable and better equipped to perform the job. Identifying skill gap becomes essential. Skill gap presents an opportunity for the organization and the employees to identify the missing skills and try to gain them. This study analyzed the skill gap between the employees of VASUDHARA Dairy (AMUL), Nagpur and helped in making employees aware of the critical skills they will need to grow. A sample of 60 respondents was considered. The data were collected in 2 phases. At first, the department heads were interviewed and then the questionnaire was prepared based on the parameters communicated by the heads and then it was circulated to the employees. The major findings reveal that most of the employees out of the total sample lack ICT ( Information and communication technology) and thus a skill gap exists in this area.

Cloud cost management: An empirical view

Cloud computing provides a mechanism to access, store and retrieve the applications and data online. The word cloud refers to a network or the internet. Nowadays, many IT Companies are adopting Cloud Computing. In Cloud, computing resources are made available to the users easily, quickly and on a pay-per usage basis. In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyze the cost involved in accessing the paid services of cloud and show how the service broker policy of retrieving data from the closest datacenter and retrieving data after optimized response time of the datacenters. After a close analysis, we find that retrieving data from the nearest datacenter is more cost effective than optimized response time data retrieval of data from datacenters.
