An integrated study for targetting groundwater potential zone in and around Jamankira area of Sambalpur district, Orissa

There is an increasing dependence on groundwater for sustainable development. In recent times there has been a marked over-dependence on groundwater due to inadequate availability of potable surface water resources and vagaries of nature. Hence, an attempt has been made to delineate suitable locations for groundwater potential zones based on the Remote sensing and GIS technique in Jamankira area of Sambalpur district, Orissa.

Experimental performance on engine using acetylene as fuel

Studies reveal that Acetylene gas produced from calcium carbide (CaC2) is renewable in nature and exhibits similar properties to that of hydrogen. An experimental investigation has been carried out on a single cylinder, Spark ignition (SI) engine tested with pure petrol and petrol - Acetylene dual fuel mode with diethyl ether as an oxygenated additive. Experiments are going to conduct to study the performance characteristics of a petrol engine in dual fuel mode by aspirating Acetylene gas in the inlet manifold, with petrol- diethyl ether blends as an ignition source.

Drag reduction on vessels and study on its viability

The most severe component in the resistance of a ship is the frictional one. As we know the source of this bare hull frictional resistance is the basic wave resistance and viscous resistance or drag. Drag as we know it is directly proportional to the area it acts upon. By reducing the frictional resistance through form optimization, and more viably and hence, more importantly, air lubrication, total resistance and so fuel costs can be decreased. Especially for existing ships, reduction of ship resistance by form optimization is difficult and not cost effective, but the application of air lubrication through injection methods like in the Mitsubishi air film injection study. Reducing the frictional resistance by air injection below the ship in combination with special coatings is an active area of research; anecdotally, performance gains are usually large. The paper gives an overview of some model scale and full-scale measurement results of ships. In this study, the air lubrication method is presented and the effect of air lubrication on resistance. The analyses are performed by a commercial code solving Navier-Stokes equations. The coefficient of frictional resistance of the ship is calculated as an equivalent flat plate of the ship’s wetted surface.

Automated flood and crack detection system

The heavy floods can be so disastrous that is infrastructure washed away, the people and the animals drown, and the people can be stranded for long periods. The society and the economy of a country will suffer in various ways after the flood. The loss of the lives, vegetation, and the infrastructure. Bridge safety and flood detection system project is real-time safety evaluation of bridges and it includes the following components: (1) real- time analysis of weight (2) real-time analysis of detection of cracks 3) real time analysis of Water level.

Landing aerodynamics and adequate power plant using LPWT for airport lighting scheme

A renewable energy source is more crucial for our country because renewable energy produces an endless power supply. In this project, we use input as wind energy. The wind which is produced in the aircraft while takeoff and launching the plane. The aircraft which produce high pressure while takeoff and launching. Using the wind turbine which is placed near the airport which produces power. The turbines start rotating with the help of high-pressure air is produced from the aircraft. The LPWT which can be used on both sides of the airport where it needs some energy to rotate. While dealing with wind energy we are connected with the surface wind. The aircraft which travels nearly around 400 nautical miles per hour. During the aircraft launching or take off which produce high rotates the turbines which produce energy. During this process, a proposed controller is used to display the landing and takeoff process in the monitor. The power produced from the turbines is used for lighting in the airport.

Design and optimization of dual band antenna with DGS for IoT applications

This Paper Proposes a Microstrip antenna to work on 2.4 GHz in Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band for Internaet of things (IOT) applications. Printed circuit board (PCB) antennas are commonly used in commercial and medical applications because of its small size, low profile, and low cost. The antenna performance has been further compared by developing a defect on the ground of the same antenna. The performance of antenna is characterized by the shape, dimension and location of defected ground structure at specific position on ground plane. The proposed antenna was simulated and analyzed using CST Microwave Studio Suite Software
