Performance analysis of heat sink for microprocessor

The microprocessor is the key component in all type of PC systems. As the performance of all computer operations totally depends on microprocessor and health of this microprocessor affected by heat energy or temperature. If the temperature of this microprocessor is kept within permissible limit then the life of microprocessor increase and this is done by a component called heat sink. There are few design parameters which affects the heat transfer rate of heat sink like fin shape, material, the thickness of fin, number of fins, the spacing between two fins and base plate thickness etc. instead of aluminum copper has high heat transfer rate but as cost increases it cannot use copper as sink material. As base plate thickness increases the rate of heat transfer also improve but because of space limitation of every heat sink in the computer we cannot increase this base thickness beyond the limit. Also, increase the number of fins is not feasible solution to increase the performance of heat sink. So finally the shape is the parameter which is studying in this work for optimum results. Here in this work different shape of fin profile like circular, trapezoidal, rectangular and triangular are consisted of numerical study using the ANSYS software. According to the results, it is clear that heat transfer rate is increased by using triangular fin shape as compared to rectangular fin heat sink. The modified triangular heat sink shows that there was an increase in heat transfer rate by 9% as compared to rectangular fin heatsink.

CFD analysis of engine cylinder fin with various materials

The results of such paper of study and analysis, heat transfer and pressure loss of different shapes of the heat sink with the rectangular duct surface time zone are the same. There are two shaped fins are used by the analysis of the rectangle the shark fin, cylindrical (round). The purpose of the study was to determine the optimal size and shape of the rectangular longitudinal fins, Cylindrical Pin Fin, including horizontal thermal conductivity. This analysis has been completed the calculated maximum heat transfer rate of the fin surface and minimum pressure loss in the pipeline as a result of the shape of the change. The results of various calculations of different Nusselt no for Laminar and turbulent. After solving the problem of post-processing after the completion of the discovery of different results as outline figure, the X-Y plot and vector drawing the Laminar and turbulent flows including the heat transfer rate and pressure loss. In the light of the discussions on the basis of the results, print data concluded that heat transfer is the smallest rectangle shaped fins on the surface and the large round Pin Fin surface and pressure loss is the minimum piping, round the fins to enable it to make better use of the maximum heat transfer rate is required.

Comparative study of heat transfer enhancement comparative study of IC engine fins using CFD analysis

Extended surfaces commonly known as fins offer an economical and trouble free solutions in many situations demanding heat transfer. Rectangular and Triangular fin with no perforated and with perforated have been investigated through CFD in free and forced convection to find out temperature and heat transfer coefficient of all fins in order to achieve the high rate of heat transfer of fin material. Heat transfer rate is compared under same dimension and equal volume conditions for all fins. The results show that in case of forced convection through perforated fins the airflow over the perforated surface hence reduces the total area of heat transfer, which reduces the overall heat transfer

Study of biodiesel to develop maximum yield

In current globalization era, there in exponential demand for fossil fuels, that’s even getting worse with increasing population and urbanization. If the energy source is clean and renewable, it will reduce the environmental trouble as well. Scientists suggest for future as a current fuel because that have enlisted the properties of biodiesel prepared non-edible oils are very close to commercial diesel. A possible solution to this problem is to replace or find renewable and economically feasible fuel as an alternative source. Already a lot of work for the source which fulfills the criteria of sustainability and economically carried out. But the waste is critical issues. So, characterization and formation of biodiesel with zero waste is a prime objective.

Spectrum of software cost estimation approaches for successful project management

At the present day, business state is dynamic as well as complex. The entire organization, especially management comes across multiple issues while managing the software projects like changing requirements, escalation in new services/demands, tight budget plans and fast turnaround demands. On the other hand, organizations are trying to perform outstanding with fewer resources and finance. Hence it is essential to gauge every aspect of business especially software project management. This paper introduces techniques for estimating software cost and effort required for software development, launch, and maintenance. Software projects are critically known for going past their deadlines, crossing budget limits or both. The problem resides in estimating the number of efforts required for the development of a project. Software cost estimation is the process of predicting the effort, time required for developing a software system. The cost estimation is also depending on the size of a project which may be a line of code or function-point. There are various techniques for performing software cost estimation including algorithmic or non-algorithmic models. Each model has its own advantages and margins. The thought of paper accomplishes on the range of software cost estimation models and their performance with respect to effective software project management practices.
