Abstract
The present study offers a review stating the detailed findings related to pharmacological and phytochemicals of Peltophorumpterocarpum. Peltophorum, a tropical genus containing eight species, belongs to the legume family (Fabaceae), subfamily Caesalpinioideae. It is considered one of the significant plant species. Traditionally it was used to treat skin-related problems, insomnia, as a various ointment,s and as a pain killer. It is a source of any kind of chemical constituents like steroids, alkaloids, phenolics, terpenoids, flavonoids, fatty acids, and alcohol. Studies have found that extracts of P. pterocarpum exhibit biological activities like antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, also a cure of neurodegenerative disease.
